Week 2 Reflection

CODE,HTML AND CSS.

The picture is drawn by my friend 辞墨,
please don't save or use it in somewhere else, especially don't copy it to AI.

This week we tried something on having fun with html, and CSS. I felt like I learnt something similar before during my undergraduate program but zero memories now. Maybe that is Visual Basic or something else. The preparation course on Codecademy offered by doctor is not that hard to understand but not as easy as 1+1=2. Wait in cyber world it should be 10?

I arrived at school later than the date when semester started. It actually happened like twice, the late arrival for me has already become a nightmare. Therefore, I went through the related course and reading as much as I can before the workshop, and watching the recorded lecture for like twice.

Because I was just so worrying about the coursework after like one year and a half gap, far away from the academic mission. I knew it would just be the first step of my returning life.

For the workshop itself, not difficult to followed the instruction actually. Surprisingly, I sort of caught the pace. I need to say thanks to the well-prepared myself. The e-panel system is interesting, for I can just upload whatever I like to real server, real internet. I had website design course before but it was just, design, not much difference between making a magazine cover and save it in my own computer, everything was offline. I also tried to make a real website with my friends, and stopped at renting for cyber address.

For the FileZilla part, it was also my first time to know its real function is to upload the index on server. My undergraduate professor really liked to let us to upload assignment by FileZillas and I just could never connect. I thought it is a system similar to Bluetooth. New finding! Finally, I can use it in proper way.

For the html and CSS, I think since the target of the practice is not become master of coding, or have to write a complete project from zero. For me, the most difficult part is how to link these two together. My understanding is, html is the actual content, and CSS is the layout, is about how to make the content looks nice. After I figured this out, it became a bit easier for me to construct the ideas of my website.

The exploration of html and CSS is not as horrible as I assumed before, had to admitted it, I feel curious about the path I have not passed yet. I asked one of my friend who already graduated from MA programming, she told me that the html and CSS is really suitable for freshman. Even in real job, people are just directly apply the Vue or React (something like template?) but understanding html and CSS is really important as foundation. For this work, the most important thing is experience, so I need to review as much as website(case) as I can.
